Moot Court Association
The Moot Court Association of Government Law College was inaugurated in February 1955 by the then Hon’ble Education Minister, Mr. Dinkar R. Desai, under the aegis of Principal Mr. K. R. Mehta.
For a Lawyer to be truly proficient theoretical, knowledge does not suffice and he must acquire exceptional oratory skills. Moot Courts are thus an effective tool to hone the latter.
In recognition of
Mooting as an imperative co- curricular activity, the members of the Moot Court Association work unstintingly to promote and encourage mooting in Government Law College.
This vibrant students’ association hosts the following Competitions throughout the year:
3 City-level Moots:
The Marathi Moot Court Competition
The Chief Justice M.C. Chagla Memorial Moot Court Competition
Kanga Moot Court Competition
National-level Moot:
The Nani Palkhivala Memorial Tax Moot Court Competition – India’s first and only moot devoted to Income Tax law.
International- level Moot:
The D.M. Harish Memorial Government Law College International Moot Court Competition - India’s first, largest and most prestigious international moot court competition
