Every great
educational institution nurtures its students by giving them

With a heritage
spanning a century and a half, the Government Law College,
Mumbai has dominated the legal landscape of India since 1855
(preceding even the Bombay High Court and Mumbai University,
under whom the college is currently affiliated). It aims at
imparting this rich heritage to inspire all its students and
encouraging them to dream of the future.

The alumni have and
continue to contribute immensely to their alma mater by
encouraging its present students in all their endevours.
GLC thrives by a
happy harmony of tradition and progress. Not one to bask in its
past glory, the College is one of the most innovative and
progressive institutions in the country today. Apart from the
superior legal education, it also allows for the development of
a vast spectrum of co-curricular activities, including the
immensely popular Moot Court Competitions (from 1929), sports,
Legal aid – jail visits, debate, essay & elocution competitions
and social service.
Government Law
College proudly boasts of a mix of a traditional and
contemporary atmosphere of learning and healthy competitiveness.
Today, GLC is at a momentous period: over 150 years of its
existence. Upholding its traditions, GLC hosts its annual
