The Students Council
The Student Council organises a series of events for the benefit of the students. Amongst these some of the events include:
Inaugural Day
This being the first function to be organised by the Student Council, is organised to familiarize the college students with the members of the Council, and allow the Council to put forth its plans for the current academic year before the college. Usually, a well-known legal luminary is invited to preside on this day, and speak to the college on a related issue. This year the Inaugural Day function was held a the Government Law College Auditorium, and was presided over by the Ex-Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Shri. Deshpande.
M.C.Chagla Lecture Series
This is a lecture series organised in the memory of the first Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, the Late Hon’ble Chief Justice M.C.Chagla. It is a week long, lecture-seminar series in which eminent lawyers and Judges, are invited to speak to the college on legal and other related issues. It encompasses a series of controversial as well as specialist topics. This year the lecture series have been sponsored by Crawford Bayley & Co., as well as Little & Co. It is scheduled for the first week of January 1999.
College Prospectus
The Student Council has decided to revise the college prospectus, and update it with details of the new syllabus for the five and three-year course degrees. The prospectus has details concerning every aspect of academic and extra-curricular
Annual Day
This event is the final event of the Student Council, a fun-filled, entertainment program normally held towards the end of the academic year. The entertainment program is put up often with the assistance of the Dramatics Society and other societies of the college. It is an evening filled with excitement and jollity, before which the students crawl back into their cocoons to study for their final examinations. |
